Verizon Galaxy S24 Series Units Start Receiving One UI 7 Update

by | Apr 10, 2025 | Galaxy S, News, Updates

The cat’s finally out of the bag. A few hours ago, we reported that both beta and non-beta Galaxy S24 series units had started receiving the One UI 7 stable update. Now, it’s confirmed that the update is rolling out to Verizon-locked Galaxy S24 devices in the US.

Before you get excited, it looks like the update is only available for a handful of users. While a few users have confirmed receiving One UI 7, many Galaxy S24 users with a carrier-locked Verizon unit say there’s no update for them. Hopefully, Samsung will begin a wider rollout soon.

One UI 7 stable lands on Verizon-locked Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra

According to user reports (1, 2) from Reddit, several Verizon customers with carrier-locked Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra devices have successfully received the One UI 7 update. This confirms that the rollout is expanding and is no longer limited to unlocked devices. Verizon users are now getting the update alongside their unlocked counterparts who received it earlier.

The update is not small. One UI 7 is a significant upgrade over 6.1. It comes with a bunch of new animations, features, and changes you’ll notice throughout the system. The download size is around 5GB, so make sure you’re on Wi-Fi and have enough space on your device before starting the update. As of now, the exact security patch for Verizon-locked units hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s most likely the April 2025 security patch, as that’s what other variants are receiving with the same update.

To check for the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it’s not available yet, it may still be in the process of rolling out to your device. Samsung often pushes updates in batches, so delays are normal.

No news yet on when AT&T and T-Mobile units will receive the update, but that information should come soon. We’ll report once there’s confirmation that those variants are included in the rollout. For now, Verizon users can finally download and install One UI 7 and start exploring everything it brings.
