Samsung recently expanded the One UI 7 beta program for the Galaxy A55, though it’s still limited to a handful of markets. For users who either don’t have access to the beta update or prefer to wait for the stable release, the company has something else to offer. The April 2025 security patch is now rolling out to the Galaxy A55 in select regions.
Galaxy A55 gets the April security update amid One UI 7 rollout
Currently, the Galaxy A55’s One UI 7 beta program is available in South Korea and India, with the UK expected to join the list soon. Samsung is unlikely to release the beta update anywhere else. The stable version is expected to roll out globally in May. Meanwhile, Galaxy A55 users running One UI 6.1 are getting the April security update. The beta release also bundles the latest security patch.
As of this writing, we can confirm the April update for the Galaxy A55 in India, the same market where Samsung also recently released One UI 7 beta. The new stable firmware release for the 2024 midrange smartphone carries the build version A556EXXS7AYC8. The update is all about this month’s security fixes, with no additional changes or new features. Samsung is keeping those goodies for One UI 7.
As far as security fixes are concerned, the Korean firm has already published its April patch details. This month’s SMR (Security Maintenance Release) addresses at least five critical vulnerabilities and nearly 50 high-severity flaws across Android OS and Galaxy components. In total, we are looking at over 60 different security patches for various flaws.
Samsung will soon release the April SMR for more Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S24, Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE received the new security patch bundled with the One UI 7 stable update. Other eligible devices will pick it up in the coming days. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for updates.
