A few days ago, Samsung launched its latest Fan Edition tablets — the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+. These S Pen-compatible midrange Android tablets are ideal for those who do not need absolute beasts like the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. They strike a solid balance between performance and affordability. But if you are wondering how long Samsung plans to support the new FE lineup with updates, we have good news for you.
Samsung will keep the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series updated for years to come
Samsung is an industry leader when it comes to software support for its mobile devices. The Korean firm offers seven years of OS and security updates to flagship models and six years to midrange smartphones. The new Fan Edition tablets technically fall into the latter category, but Samsung promises flagship-level software support. Yes, you read that right — the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series is set to receive updates for seven years.
The information comes directly from Samsung’s official website, so it must be accurate. The official product page for the Galaxy Tab S10 series says the devices will be supported with security updates at least until the end of April 2032, which is over seven years away. Note that Samsung specifically mentions “security update period,” so unlike flagships, these midrange tablets may not necessarily receive feature updates for seven years.
Nonetheless, Samsung has once again raised the bar with long software support for affordable Galaxy devices. As mentioned above, the company already offers six years of updates for midrange smartphones. Some Android makers deliver only two major OS updates to their products in the same price range. And if a new rumor is accurate, Samsung may also soon start pushing major One UI updates faster than ever. Exciting times are ahead for Galaxy users.
