Update 04:30 PM, 04/11: Ice Universe has confirmed that their X account has been restored.

Update 03:22 PM, 04/03: Ice Universe still hasn’t got their X account back. Hackers seemingly have access to their account, who are hosting a space. “Please don’t be deceived and don’t interact with this account,” Ice posted on Instagram.

Original reporting from 04/02 follows…

Noted tipster Ice Universe, who has a solid track record, seems to have lost access to their X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday. They took to Instagram to share this incident and Weibo (h/t Tarun Vats), saying their account had been hacked. “It may take a few days, or it may never be recovered,” they wrote in the caption. Until Ice Universe confirms they’re back in control, take anything from @UniverseIce on X with a bucket of salt.

Ice Universe seemingly locked out of X account, urges followers to “not be cheated”

Ice Universe has quite a massive following on X and elsewhere. Much of what is built on being a trusted insider for leaks and everything Samsung. At the time of writing, their X (@UniverseIce) account has over 550K followers, meaning nearly half a million people rely on them for insider info.

If a hacker has access, they’re likely to use this huge following to trick people into falling for a scam. We’ve seen hackers post crypto stuff before, and clicking on those links could mean losing real money. It’s a pretty serious situation, so for now, just ignore anything coming from Ice Universe’s X account.

The last post on their account was made about nine hours ago, where the tipster confirmed that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge has been postponed. At first, it seemed like the hacker might’ve made the post. But no. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is indeed being postponed, at least in the US, with confirmation from other sources, including tech reporter Max Jambor. Other than that, the hacker(s) haven’t posted anything shady yet.

So, keep an eye out and don’t fall for anything. We’ll update you if Ice Universe gets their account back.
