Galaxy Z Flip FE Launch Still Unclear Amid Conflicting Reports

Recent reports have stirred confusion about the launch timeline of Samsung’s upcoming affordable foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip FE. While some say the device is on track for a July release alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7, others hint at a delay due to issues with the Exynos 2500 chipset. The Galaxy G Fold (tri-fold) looks certain to arrive later in the year.

Galaxy Z Flip FE still doesn’t have a precise launch timeline

Samsung traditionally launches its foldables between July and August, and it should be no different this year. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 are on track to go official in July. However, the company has a couple more folding phones in the pipeline — an affordable Flip FE and the first-ever tri-fold. These two were also initially expected to debut in July, but it looks unlikely now.

The Korean media recently reported that the Galaxy Z Flip FE will arrive “several months” after the Flip 7, potentially alongside the Galaxy S25 FE between September and October. Samsung is still unsure whether it wants to ship the Fan Edition foldable with its in-house Exynos 2500 and plans to delay the phone.

However, according to industry insider Max Jambor, the Galaxy Z Flip FE (codename B7R) is on track to launch alongside its pricier siblings. We might have to wait longer for this confusion to clear. The Galaxy Z Flip FE is a completely new foldable in Samsung’s portfolio. The company must have made calculations regarding the best launch timeline and specs.

The tri-fold should launch by the end of the year

As mentioned above, Samsung is also working on a Galaxy G Fold featuring a dual-folding display. This tri-fold model is also set to arrive before the end of this year, though we are still awaiting a more specific launch timeline.
