Samsung usually hosts two Unpacked events each year. One of them took place in January, when Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 series. Now, all eyes are on the second Unpacked event, where Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. As we get closer to the launch, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to feature the same screen size as the Fold SE.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 tipped to feature 8-inch screen, refuting previous rumors

Previously, Samsung was rumored to equip the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with an 8.2-inch screen. That would have been 0.2 inches larger than the Fold Special Edition. However, PandaFlashPro, a consistent source of leaks about the upcoming Fold 7 and Flip 7, now suggests otherwise. To be fair, this isn’t a major downgrade from earlier reports. Notably, it aligns with initial estimates from display industry veteran Ross Young, who predicted that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would feature an 8-inch main display. However, later rumors leaned toward an 8.2-inch display instead. There’s no word on the cover screen so far. So, we’ll stick to the previously rumored 6.5-inch cover.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 CAD Renders

The tipster mentioned that they “just received information” implying that the latest details reflect the current status. While Samsung may have initially considered an 8.2-inch display, the company often makes adjustments as it nears the release schedule or enters mass production. Given these possibilities, what remains most certain is that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will indeed feature an 8-inch screen.

Having that said, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could equip the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. It’s the same chipset found in the Galaxy S25 series. However, the Fold 7’s variant may feature one less core, primarily to improve thermal efficiency. The battery is unlikely to see an upgrade. But the good news is that the improvements could come in the form of a more durable and refined hinge.
