Samsung has published its updated security bulletin containing patch details for March 2025. This month’s security update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets addresses over 50 vulnerabilities, including nearly a dozen critical Android OS issues. The company will soon roll out these patches to eligible devices.

Samsung’s March 2025 security update patches over 50 vulnerabilities

The March 2025 security update for Samsung Galaxy devices is a massive one. While the company patches several dozen vulnerabilities every month — at times, over 80 security flaws — only a few are typically critical. This time, the company is addressing 11 critical flaws in the Android OS. These patches come from Android maker Google or its partners.

The most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow remote access or remote code execution to affected Android phones, including Galaxy models. In simpler words, a threat actor could exploit the vulnerability to remotely control your phone without your knowledge. That’s until the March security update is installed.

Additionally, this month’s security patch, aka SMR (Security Maintenance Release), addresses 40 other high-severity Android OS flaws and seven Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. The latter are Galaxy-specific flaws patched by Samsung. These include security flaws in Settings, Auracast, Galaxy Watch Gallery, Wi-Fi Service, and other internal components.

Samsung will soon roll out these security fixes to eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Flagship models such as the Galaxy S25 series should get priority. Samsung is also preparing the One UI 7.0 update with tons of new features. If it begins the stable rollout over the next few days, some devices could get the February SMR bundled with One UI 7.0.

To check for updates on your Galaxy device, open the Settings app, go to the Software update menu, and tap Download and install. If no update shows up today, repeat the steps to check back a few days later.
