There’s a strong chance that the Galaxy S23 series will receive its first beta update next week, with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 also likely to join the program. Unfortunately, this could mean even longer delays for the stable rollout.
Samsung prepares for Galaxy S23’s One UI 7.0 beta rollout
Over the past few days, we have spotted One UI 7.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S23 series, Fold 6, and Flip 6 on Samsung’s servers. While those could have been internal test builds, the company recently dropped a solid hint that public beta programs are in the pipeline. It created official beta community pages for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra in all supported markets.
In all likelihood, Samsung will roll out the first One UI 7.0 beta update for the 2023 flagships sometime next week. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 could follow soon. The company has also reportedly created beta community pages for the Galaxy S22 and S21 series in some markets. However, as of this writing, there are no beta builds for these phones on its servers.
Nonetheless, it’s looking highly likely that Samsung will take longer to deliver the stable One UI 7.0 update to eligible Galaxy phones. Considering the sheer amount of changes the company made to its custom Android software this year, it might be struggling to achieve the desired stability of support functions across all devices. For users, the wait continues with no clarity on when the update will arrive.
A recently leaked timeline suggested the rollout will begin in mid-April. However, Samsung’s beta community moderators dismissed that timeline as inaccurate. Whether it was just a cover up or if the update will arrive before April, only time will tell. Samsung did originally say that One UI 7.0 will roll out to some models before the end of March. It still has the whole month to fulfil that promise.
