According to X user @sondesix, the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 50MP 5x periscope telephoto lens has a minimum focusing distance of approximately 24cm. This is notably short compared to other smartphones with similar zoom capabilities (5x or more). The Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s 5x lens, for example, has a longer minimum focusing distance.
This means the S25 Ultra can capture detailed close-up shots with its 5x zoom lens, making it a strong contender for macro photography enthusiasts. But that’s not it. The new Samsung flagship’s other rear cameras also have industry-leading minimum focusing distance. The tipster says it’s approximately 3cm for the 50MP ultrawide lens, 10cm for the 200MP main camera, and 18cm for the 10MP 3x zoom camera.
