Samsung is gearing up to unveil three new foldables at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. These include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and a new “Fan Edition” Galaxy Z Flip FE. The Flip FE could be a more budget-friendly variant, employing the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s display at a significantly lower price tag.
Today, additional details about the Galaxy Z Flip FE have emerged, including its model number SM-F761. A few intriguing tidbits confirm that this device is indeed part of the Flip series: the Flip 6’s model number is SM-F741, and the Flip 7’s is expected to be SM-F751. While SM-F761 might suggest it could be the Galaxy Z Flip 8. But the fact that Samsung is planning an FE edition for the Flip series points to the contrary.
An unknown device’s prototype surfaced which could be Galaxy Z Flip FE
According to tipster PandaFlashPro, a new Flip prototype has surfaced, which could very well be the Galaxy Z Flip FE. The Flip prototype in question features the same UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) and hinge design as the Flip 6, which aligns with previous rumors that the Flip FE will utilize the same screen as its predecessor. In addition, it could come with an Armor Aluminum Frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for added durability. The display is said to support a 120Hz refresh rate and reach a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.
Under the hood, the Flip FE is rumored to be powered by an unspecified Exynos processor. It’s expected to support 25W wired charging — I hope this changes though. The device may feature water resistance and have the same speaker setup as the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Naturally, it will launch with One UI 7.0 alongside its Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 counterparts.
