If everything goes as planned, Samsung will unveil its new foldables during the second Galaxy Unpacked event, likely in Q3 2025. The company already kicked off the year with the first Galaxy Unpacked, where it released the Galaxy S25 series (though without the Galaxy S25 Edge). Now, all eyes are on the Samsung’s upcoming foldables in 2025.
Samsung may be planning at least three foldables in 2025
According to tech reporter Max Jambor, Samsung’s 2025 foldable lineup will include the B7, B74, and Q7. If his information is accurate, the upcoming foldable lineup will at least feature the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip FE, and Fold 7, based on the codenames he’s provided. While he doesn’t explicitly mention a tri-fold launching this year, you never know what surprises Samsung might have in store. At the very least, we can expect the release of these three foldables.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 will serve as successors to the current Flip 6 and Fold 6. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip FE could be a Fan Edition variant, rumored to retain the Flip 6’s screen, feature an Exynos 2400 processor, and be priced competitively. Personally, I’m a big fan of these Fan Editions and can’t wait for Samsung to release one, giving more people the chance to try out the Flip, especially at a more affordable price.
Additionally, reports from South Korea suggest that Samsung might reduce its 2025 foldable phone targets. That’s due to disappointing sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. The good news, however, is that Samsung is not skipping foldable releases for the year. Samsung’s strategy could still work in its favor. It also faces one less competitor this year, with OnePlus announcing that the Open 2 won’t be released. And as usual, the Oppo Find N5 won’t be available in the US.
