Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge may not boast the most impressive specs, with a missing zoom camera being a major drawback. However, it could still be a great pick for anyone who loves thin and lightweight phones. Rumors suggest the device will be just 5.84mm thick and weigh less than 160 grams, despite featuring a 6.7-inch display.

According to renowned Samsung leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be lighter than the regular Galaxy S25. The latter weighs 162 grams (5.71 oz), so expect the Edge to weigh under 160 grams. That’s pretty lightweight for a phone almost as big as the Galaxy S25+, which weighs 190 grams (6.70 oz).
To recall, the base S25 has a dimension of 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm while the Plus has a dimension of 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm. The Galaxy S25 Edge, on the other hand, is expected to measure 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm in dimension. While it is almost as tall and wide as the Galaxy S25+, the upcoming slim phone is substantially thin.
This also means Edge packs a smaller battery, reported at just 3,900mAh against the S25’s 4,000mAh and the Plus model’s 4,900mAh. A smaller battery helped Samsung lower the Edge’s weight despite its large profile. The phone also features only two rear cameras, so that’s another area where the company could cut the weight.
As said earlier, the Galaxy S25 Edge lacks a zoom camera. Samsung removed it to make the device thinner — it originally planned a 6.4mm thick phone with a triple camera setup on the back. Thankfully, the rumored 200MP primary shooter appears locked in. The other lens might be a 12MP or 50MP ultrawide camera. This slim flagship is expected to go official in April or May this year. It’s unclear if Samsung will sell it globally or limit it to select markets.
