Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 series is already hitting stores worldwide and has been a huge success, especially in its home country of South Korea. The launch saw an impressive 1.3 million pre-orders within just 15 days, surpassing the numbers of the Galaxy S24 series. We now have more insights revealing the secrets of this success.
Alongside the Galaxy S25 launch, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Club program, a monthly subscription plan that offers up to 50% buyback value when you upgrade to a newer model next year, and up to 40% buyback guarantee after two years. This also includes complimentary Samsung Care+ coverage. In South Korea, the program is called the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, and it has quickly gained popularity, especially among younger buyers.
Every one in five Galaxy S25 buyers took New Galaxy AI Subscription Club in South Korea
According to Samsung (in Korean), one in five Galaxy S25 buyers in South Korea has signed up for the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club. Most of the subscribers have opted for the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is an absolute powerhouse. Additionally, 6 out of 10 subscribers are in their 20s and 30s. This shows that the subscription-based phone upgrade model is resonating with the younger generation, who appreciate the opportunity to upgrade to a new Galaxy device annually without the burden of a full purchase.
“We appreciate the strong support for the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, which is redefining smartphone ownership,” Samsung Korea’s vice president, Lim Sung-Taek expressed gratitude (translated). “We will continue to lead this transformation by offering access to the latest innovations at an affordable price.” Samsung is offering a 16GB+1TB Galaxy S25 Ultra variant in Titanium Jet Black, exclusively in Korea through its online store.
The Korean behemoth hasn’t released similar data on how the New Galaxy Club program is performing in the US. It is also unclear if the company plans to expand this program to more markets anytime soon. We will keep you posted.
