In a move that left many Galaxy users frustrated, Samsung decided to remove the Bluetooth capability from the S Pen in the latest Galaxy S25 Ultra. The writing had been on the wall for some time, but whatever little hope remained was further dashed at Galaxy Unpacked. For countless users, the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen mattered, and its removal has raised concerns among users, as Reddit and X can attest.

One of the best—or rather, most beloved—features of the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen was its ability to act as a remote shutter for the camera. That’s something even our editor Jeff and my colleague Sumit have expressed strong opinions about. For Jeff, it was “a functional, important tool.” So, we’re launching a Change.org petition, urging Samsung to bring back the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. After all, when the going gets tough, the tough get going—and we’re not ready to let this feature fade into the sunset.

Every signature counts!

“The Galaxy user base spread across the globe stands at a staggering two billion. We believe that a significant number of these individuals share the sentiment that Samsung’s choice to remove S Pen’s Bluetooth functionality is a step backwards,” Jeff writes in change.org petition to Samsung.

We believe every signature counts, so do your part and join the movement for change. I’m sure you, too, miss the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen gestures. We may have momentarily forgotten the fight and resigned ourselves to fate, but over the weekend, a post from Samsung Insights by a freelancer reignited hope, claiming the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen would be sold separately. However, Samsung has since debunked that rumor to Android Authority.

For Samsung, the challenge now is to strike a balance between innovation and the needs and expectations of its loyal customer base.

If you’re among the many disappointed by the removal of the Bluetooth S Pen, consider signing the petition to make your voice heard. Together, we can show Samsung that its users value innovation, functionality, and the features that make the Galaxy experience truly unique.
