Samsung is just days away from unveiling its highly anticipated Galaxy S25 flagships. The company will launch three new models on January 22, all running Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with 12GB of RAM. Ahead of the launch, the devices popped up on a popular benchmarking platform with impressive scores. The base model, in particular, excelled in these benchmark tests.

Galaxy S25 goes toe to toe with the Ultra in new benchmark tests

All three Galaxy S25 models recently surfaced on Geekbench, a popular platform for evaluating smartphone performance. The devices featured an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with two prime cores operating at 4.47GHz instead of 4.32GHz. The six performance cores are still clocked at 3.53GHz. The entire lineup had 12GB of RAM, which should be 12nm LPDDR5X chips.

Each model was tested multiple times and the scores vary slightly β€” various factors affect the device’s performance, so it’s normal for benchmark runs to yield different scores each time unless the gap is too big. We were particularly impressed by the base Galaxy S25, which gave tough competition to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

In one instance, the base model scored 3,175 in single-core CPU tests on Geekbench v6.3. Its multi-core CPU score came in at 10,050. Those scores are as good as the Ultra: 3,155 and 10,079. The Galaxy S25+ lagged slightly with scores of 2,721 and 9,435. Those are still impressive figures, but look a bit pale in from of the other two models.

Of course, benchmark tests never tell the full story. As said earlier, these scores can vary and shouldn’t be considered an accurate representation of a device’s performance. However, if genuine (it’s easy to fake these tests), they do give us a fair idea of what to expect from a device. Based on these Geekbench runs, the Galaxy S25 lineup is going to be a performance powerhouse.

No matter which model you pick, you will certainly get a top-notch performance. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12GB LPDDR5X RAM will handle the heaviest of tasks smoothly. You can already pre-reserve the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, with pre-orders beginning after launch next week.
