Samsung has been rolling out updates at a steady pace over the past few days. Several Galaxy smartphones and tablets have now started getting the January 2026 security patch. The rollout has expanded to devices like the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A53, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Tab A9+, Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro, and Galaxy XCover 7.

January 2026 Security Patch Rollout Expands to More Galaxy Models

The Galaxy A26 has started getting the January 2026 security patch in regions such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Iraq. The update carries the build version A266BXXS7BZA3. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A53 has begun receiving the update in Samsung’s home market, South Korea, with the build version A536NKSSEGZA1.

Samsung has also rolled out the update to the Galaxy S21 lineup, including the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. These models have started getting the January 2026 security patch in South Korea and carry the build version G99*NKSSCHZA5. Interestingly, the rollout pattern for the S21 series has been inconsistent. Some regions, like the United States, received the December 2025 patch earlier, while South Korea skipped it. This uneven rollout could indicate that software support for the lineup is gradually nearing its end.

The Exynos variant of the Galaxy S21 FE has also picked up the January patch. The update is currently live in regions such as Brazil, Malaysia, Iraq, Turkey, and a few other markets, with the build version G990EXXSLHZA1.

In the foldable segment, Samsung has released the January 2026 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 in South Korea. The Fold 4 carries the build version F936NKSS6IZA1, while the Flip 4 comes with build version F721NKSS6IZA1.

Large-screen and rugged devices are also part of this rollout. The Galaxy Tab A9+ has started receiving the update in South Korea. The Wi-Fi variant equips the builld version X210XXSAEZA1.The Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro has picked up the patch in Vietnam, Thailand, and Iraq with build version X356BXXS5BZA2. The Galaxy XCover 7 is getting the update in Europe, Turkey, and Iraq and carries the build version G556BXXSDDZA1.

The January 2026 security patch fixes 55 security vulnerabilities identified by Samsung, Google, and other partners. While it does not bring new features, it improves overall system security and device stability.

If you own any of the devices mentioned above, you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once the download finishes, tap Install now. Make sure your device has enough battery and is not overheating before starting the installation.
